Since 2016, Kirk & Co. has supported the MST Partnership and Canada Lands Company with strategic communications advice regarding development projects in the City of Vancouver. This work began with the development of a strategic communications plan for the partnership, informed through interviews with Nations and Canada Lands Company leadership.
The City of Vancouver-led planning process for ʔəy̓alməxʷ/Iy̓álmexw/Jericho Lands began in 2019. Since then, Kirk & Co. has been honoured to support the Jericho Lands project team, which includes Cultural Liaisons from each of the three Nations, staff from MST Development Corporation and Canada Lands Company, and a team of talented planning and technical professionals.
We have supported an Indigenous-led engagement and planning process, including engagement with each of the Nation’s communities, and a four-phase public engagement process led by the City of Vancouver. Our scope has included supporting with writing, graphic services, media relations, and facilitation of engagement events.

Background
ʔəy̓alməxʷ/Iy̓álmexw/Jericho Lands is an Indigenous-led development of a 90-acre site located on the west side of Vancouver. The MST Partnership and Canada Lands Company have been working together since 2018 to develop a plan for the redevelopment of the site.
In January 2024, Vancouver City Council unanimously approved a Policy Statement for ʔəy̓alməxʷ/Iy̓álmexw/Jericho Lands, which sets directions for the redevelopment of the site. When fully built out over the next 25-30 years, ʔəy̓alməxʷ/Iy̓álmexw/Jericho Lands will provide approximately 13,000 new homes for about 24,000 people, space for about 3,000 jobs, and significant community amenities, including 30 acres of parks and open space.
