The Electrical Contractors Association of British Columbia (ECABC) has been the face of electrical and line contractors in the province since its inception in 1952. While the organization’s scope and membership had changed through the decades, its mission statement and branding had not been updated to reflect these changes.
ECABC hired Kirk & Co. to design and carry out engagement with its members to support the development of new mission, vision, and values statements and a refreshed brand that better reflected its membership. Kirk & Co. helped coordinate opportunities for member input at each of the association’s chapter meetings across the province and facilitated a branding strategy session with ECABC’s board. Using this feedback, our team worked with key ECABC staff to craft new mission, vision, and values statements and a new logo, look and feel for the brand which was unveiled at ECABC’s 71st Annual General Meeting in 2023.
The final logo design incorporates the electrical symbol for ‘connected’ within the contour of British Columbia, accented by blue tones, representing the fact that most of our province’s electricity is generated by hydro. To maintain consistency, we formulated comprehensive brand guidelines which outline the proper usage of the new branding elements, including logo placement, color schemes, typography, and suggested graphic usage of brand elements.
The new logo and mission, vision, and values statements can be viewed on the ECABC website.
